Speculation is rife about whether Harry and Meghan will attend Charles’ Coronation. But this is detracting from joyful anticipation of it. It’s as if the Coronation is all about them, not him.
Will Harry and Meghan Attend the Coronation?
Charles delivered a very moving first speech as king. He even made a point of wishing Harry and Meghan well in building their lives overseas. But they’re peddling brazen lies and betraying family ties to build their lives. He could not have imagined that in his worst nightmares.
In fact, to date, Harry and Meghan’s antics have defined Charles’s reign. All media mentions of the British royals have been about
- her podcast,
- his memoir, or
- their docuseries.
And it’s bad enough that the theme of each has been their petulant criticisms of his family. But it all smacks of a mercenary plan to monetize royal gossip. And lost in all that media coverage is the charitable and personable ways Charles is serving as king.
Plans for his early-May Coronation are falling into place. Yet, here too, media speculation about what role, if any, Harry and Megan will play dominates.
But reports about Charles making overtures to woo and appease them do not help. Because they compound disheartening reports about Harry and Meghan rejecting his “olive branch.”

South Park roasts Harry and Meghan’s claim of privacy
You may not recall, but Harry and Meghan left England for more privacy in America. So they may fear attending the Coronation would draw too much attention.
Except that South Park just roasted the preening hypocrisy inherent in that. Of course, hypocrisy defines their Megxit lives.
The title of that show’s latest episode is “The Worldwide Privacy Tour.” Even shameless Harry and Meghan must have found it too humiliating for words. And you know they watched.
Not that attending would spare them humiliation, mind you. After all, reports are William and his friends shared clips of this show and laughed at their expense. And you know Harry and Meghan read those reports.
Charles should go ahead and invite them.
To say things have become topsy-turvy in this respect would be an understatement. After all, the woman who took Harry’s virginity is getting more media coverage. Even Meghan’s sister, who filed a defamation suit against her and Harry, is getting more. And it’s all reducing plans for his Coronation to a sideshow.
Charles must quell this speculation. He must protect and preserve the integrity and sanctity of his Coronation. And he can do so by issuing a simple statement. You know, like those his late mother, the queen, occasionally issued. It should read something like this:
________
A STATEMENT FROM HIS MAJESTY THE KING ON HARRY AND MEGHAN ATTENDING THE CORONATION
I fully appreciate why there is so much media speculation about my son Harry and his wife Meghan attending my Coronation. They have been invited, naturally.
But any report about negotiations in this regard is untrue. Harry and Meghan will enjoy the same pride of place at all events as other non-working members of our royal family.
We look forward to them all attending accordingly.
