Pence projecting disappointment
Vice President Mike Pence says Chief Justice John Roberts has been a disappointment to conservatives.
‘Look, we have great respect for the institution of the Supreme Court of the United States,’ [Vice President Mike] Pence told the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody on Wednesday.
‘But Chief Justice John Roberts has been a disappointment to conservatives — whether it be the Obamacare decision, or whether it be a spate of recent decisions all the way through Calvary Chapel.’
(Politico, August 6, 2020)
But this reeks of Trumpian projection. Because conservatives say Pence has been a disappointment to them.
Pence heads a Republican cult
Pence is the leader of fallen angels. As such, he has led Republicans in transforming their party into a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, homophobic, fascistic, spendthrift cult. Their party is now dedicated, above all, to furthering the political ambitions and enriching the personal fortunes of Donald J. Trump.
I have decried this transformation in commentaries like “Republicans Abandon Faith and Values to Hail Trump as ‘Chosen by God'” on March 6, 2019, and “Republicans Knew From Day One That Supporting Trump Was Like Israelites Worshiping the Golden Calf” on November 23, 2019.
Republicans testing God’s permissive will
Whither the wrath of God? After all, Republicans like Pence clearly have no fear of spewing self-righteous blasphemy in His name.
But American voters aren’t so indulging. That’s why Pence and his Republican cohorts are in for a rude awakening on Election Day (a.k.a. Judgement Day).
