Hurricane Helene has left many Americans homeless in its wake, with many facing the daunting task of rebuilding without insurance. The Biden-Harris administration has FEMA officials deployed across affected states, providing immediate aid and relief. Meanwhile, Trump is doing what he does best — hurling lies and staging political photo-ops to discredit these efforts, more interested in brand-building than bridge-building.
Many of these victims are working families who paid rent and would welcome the chance to buy their first home. Others just want to replace their flood-ravaged properties. Kamala’s economic plan offers $25,000 in down-payment assistance for new homes, with even more support for first-generation homeowners. All those affected would benefit tremendously.
By contrast, Trump’s economic plan revolves around long-term tariffs and deregulation — policies that let insurance companies limit payouts. His plan offers little direct help for disaster recovery and would further burden flood victims by making everyday items more expensive on top of already skyrocketing prices.
So it behooves these victims to vote, accordingly…
