Donald Trump is a pathological liar. But no court has found that he’s a perjurer, yet. Meghan Markle is a pathological liar. But a court has now found that she’s a perjurer, too. Which means she trumps Trump as the most notorious liar in public life.
Meghan Markle is a perjurer
Meghan Markle apologised to the Court of Appeal yesterday for failing to remember she told a royal aide to brief the authors of the Finding Freedom biography.
The Duchess of Sussex, who previously insisted she and Prince Harry did not co-operate with the two writers of the gushing book, said she had ‘forgotten’ providing the aide details of what to reveal ‘when you sit down with them.’
(The Daily Mail, November 10, 2021)
Except that Meghan’s apology calls into question everything she said in that big Oprah interview. You can’t believe anything this American royal pretender says.
You can’t even take her seriously. Exhibit A is how she spent weeks calling US senators to lobby them on a pending legislation. Then, with a straight face, she said it had nothing to do with “playing politics.” I suppose, when a royal lobbies, it’s not playing politics, it’s issuing decrees.
Oh, she began each call with “This is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.” But I wish at least one of those senators had the presence of mind to say:
Well, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, this is America, and we don’t recognize such and such. Bye.
Meghan Markle’s embarrassing appearance on Ellen
Meghan and Harry clearly forgot the lies they fed ghostwriters to make themselves look good in Finding Freedom. But it seems they also forgot saying they left the UK for more privacy in the US. Meghan’s latest outing makes clear what a big lie that was.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, just proved big time on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she’s no longer tethered to royal protocol. From doing random squats out in public to addressing herself as ‘Mommy,’ Meghan gave street vendors the prank of their lives when she took on Ellen DeGeneres’s classic IFB stunt…
Throughout the prank, Meghan was instructed by Ellen through an earpiece to mimic cringeworthy lines to street vendors.
(Bazaar, November 19, 2021)
Bazaar subheaded this piece, “A royal prankster.” But the irony seemed lost even on its editors. After all, the royal family made Sarah, Duchess of York/Pork, an outcast for being a prankster.
No doubt Meghan can rationalize abandoning royal duties in the UK for royal pranks in the US. But no self-respecting woman can rationalize performing stupid human tricks for Ellen. At least the pets that performed stupid tricks for David Letterman didn’t know any better.
And that brings us full circle. Because Meghan showed that you can marry a B-lister into royalty, but you can’t make a B-lister royal. She also showed that even a royal title can’t turn a bad actor into a good one.
Prince Harry is losing friends and respect
If you think Harry is showing more regal judgment, think again. Because nothing damns him to the core of his being quite like this:
Jemima Khan, a close friend of Princess Diana, pulled out of helping to script Netflix’s The Crown because the story was not being handled ‘as respectfully or compassionately’ as she had hoped, she has said. …
‘It was really important to me that the final years of my friend’s life be portrayed accurately and with compassion, as has not always happened in the past.’
(The Guardian, November 7, 2021)
Remember, Harry cites the media’s mistreatment of his mother as the reason he turned his back on his country. He said he feared they might mistreat his wife the same. So you’d think he, too, would be denouncing Netflix for this portrayal.
But his silence has been deafening. And I’m convinced it has everything to do with this:
In September, six months after their split from the House of Windsor, the duo signed a multiyear deal with Netflix to produce documentaries, series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming. …
Though it remains unconfirmed, estimates and reports peg the value of the deal at north of $100 million.
(Observer, March 8, 2021)
Granted, it took a $100-million deal. But this explains Harry overlooking the hypocrisy. After all, his own media company is now doing to his mother what he damned UK media to Hell for doing.
And, if Harry doesn’t mind, who is Jemima to complain? You can’t blame Peter Morgan, the creator of The Crown, for thinking that.
Finally, there’s this:
It’s often said that Meghan Markle wears the trousers in her relationship with Prince Harry. So I wasn’t surprised, when the couple were introduced at a Veterans’ Day gala in New York, that her name flashed up on a screen before his – surely a break with Royal protocol.
(The Daily Mail, November 21, 2021)
Harry had to know he was following the infamous footsteps of Edward VIII. Simply put, Edward became Wallis’s pussy-whipped king in exile. Harry is becoming Meghan’s pussy-whipped prince.
But even I warned of the emasculating pickle Harry was getting himself into. So…
