Trump’s Grifting Valentine to Melania

Or Trump is just a grifter grifting as grifters grift. Because, even on Valentine’s Day, Trump thinks only suckers are into flowers blooming and hearts fluttering.

Former President Trump wished former first lady Melania Trump a Happy Valentine’s Day on Wednesday by thanking her for her support throughout his various criminal cases. In a campaign email sent Wednesday morning, Trump offered a “letter” with the subject line, ‘I love you, Melania!’

‘Dear Melania, I LOVE YOU. Even after every single INDICTMENT, ARREST, and WITCH HUNT, you never left my side,’ he wrote in the message. … Readers were then directed to a website where they could … donate to his reelection campaign.

Frankly, when it comes to fleecing the flock, even televangelists have nothing on Trump. The shameless way this gilded-tower grifter fleeces his MAGA supporters is tantamount to a private citizen printing cash.

This SOB has turned political fundraising into performance art, aka the art of the grift: Each email, a brushstroke; each rally, a symphony. And the MAGA crowd? They’re the patrons of this bizarre art gallery, where the exhibits are court summons and the gift shop sells conspiracy theories.

Stand by your (old) man?

The real story here is that this email solicitation shows what a senile old fool Trump has become. After all, he’s clearly so demented that he can’t even remember that Melania has rarely been by his side since they got kicked out of the White House.

So Trump thanking her for never leaving his side is like Biden thanking Netanyahu for heeding his advice on Gaza.

And nobody should be surprised that he’s stooping so low to raise cash. After all, he’s defending himself on four indictments and 91 criminal charges. 

Those charges relate to paying hush money to a porn star, operating a fraudulent real-estate empire, mishandling classified documents, and inciting an insurrection. Trump has already used $50 million in MAGA donations to pay legal bills. And his first of four trials has yet to begin. 

Romance, Trump style

Of course, Trump is an accused serial sexual predator and adjudged rapist. Therefore, it reeks of irony as much as it smacks of poetic justice that this Valentine’s Day has him preparing to attend court tomorrow on criminal charges for paying hush money to a porn star.

Then again, theirs is not exactly a love story for the ages, unless you’re into Greek tragedies or telenovelas.

Ultimately, though, turnabout is fair play; all’s fair in love and war: She married him for his money; he’s using her to raise it. They are a match made in the dystopia he’s trying to turn America into.
