He was caught on tape bragging about grabbing women by the p****y: Strike one.
He was caught on tape shaking down the president of Ukraine for dirt on Joe Biden: Strike two.
Now he has been caught on tape variously begging, pressuring, and threatening the Georgia secretary of state for votes to overturn Biden’s election victory: Strike three.
This latest “perfect” phone call took place on Saturday. And it had Trump trying in vain to get Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to rig votes in his favor based on the same discredited conspiracy theories that got his “Kraken” lawyers laughed out of courts across the country over the past two months.
Incidentally, it is truly a testament to America’s enduring greatness that it has survived four years of this president-cum-dictator wannabe trying his damndest to destroy every one of its foundational institutions. All that’s left is for him to booby-trap the White House and mine its gardens as he leaves for the last time on January 20. Biden beware …
‘The people of Georgia are angry. The people in the country are angry,’ Trump said in the call. ‘And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.’
Raffensperger responded, ‘Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is the data you have is wrong.’
In a separate exchange, Trump said he wanted Raffensperger to ‘find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.’

Now bear in mind that this only pertains to Georgia. After all, Biden’s victory was such that you have to imagine him making similar calls to other secretaries of state trying to effectuate this electoral coup. That’s how doomed and ill-fated this delusional quest was from the outset.
In any event, I harbor no illusions about this third strike taking Trump out – as in fact the first one should have done. I mean, I see no reason why the Republicans who gave him a pass on the first two won’t give him a pass on this one too. Not to mention that many are just too busy conspiring to help him effectuate this coup.
Instead I shall suffice to note how pleased I am that Raffensperger must have read this “on-the-other-hand” advice I included my commentary “In Betraying Her Aunt Maryanne, Mary Trump Shows She’s Just Like Her Uncle Donald” from August 23, 2020:
_________
If she were leaking recordings of her uncle, that would’ve been newsworthy and probably incriminating. Of course, he would’ve insisted they were ‘perfect.’ More to the point, I maintain my contention that, given the Ukrainian precedent that got him impeached, it behooves anyone who has a phone call with Donald Trump about anything to find some way to record it, legally. Because this president of the United States is as inclined to solicit a bribe as to get you to commit a crime to serve his personal interests.
