Hur damns Biden
Attorney General Merrick Garland handpicked Robert Hur as special counsel to investigate Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. However, Hur laced his report with so many cheap shots that it read more like a political hit job than an investigative report.
Did Special Counsel Robert Hur Cross the line when he attacked President Biden’s mental acuity in a report that was supposed to be about the mishandling classified documents? Former prosecutors – even some Republicans – say he did that and more.
On Thursday, Biden himself angrily accused Hur of gratuitous slander in announcing that the president would not face criminal charges, in part, because he was “an elderly man with a poor memory.”

Frankly, for the uninitiated, Hur’s report reads like a talking-points memo for an appearance on Fox News. In other words, Hur served as little more than a political hitman for Donald Trump.
In this respect, he joins a rogue’s gallery of far too many Republicans.
They include the likes of Jeff Sessions, Ted Cruz, and Bill Barr, who willfully sacrificed their professional integrity to serve Trump’s political interest.
Hur supports but unwittingly damns Trump too
Yet, the real kicker in Hur’s report isn’t his gratuitous slights at Biden. It’s the unwitting credence he gives to Trump’s self-serving myth of a two-tier justice system.
Because, if Biden’s mental lapses make him too incapacitated to face criminal charges, shouldn’t the same hold for Trump concerning his four indictments? After all, Trump’s mental lapses make Biden’s look trivial at best.
Furthermore, if such mental slip-ups disqualify them from facing trial, shouldn’t the same logic apply to serving as president? After all, this logic indicts Trump’s presidential aspirations just as ruthlessly as it undermines Biden’s.
