Britney emulating Michael’s last moves
Britney Spears is dancing her life away, just like Michael Jackson did.
Many rejoiced when they saw clips of Michael Jackson rehearsing for his “This Is It” tour. But I despaired because I could see, indeed, I wrote, that it was his dance of death.
It occurred to me that he knew full well he couldn’t get through one concert, let alone the 50 scheduled. Thus, he rehearsed in dynamic spurts, collecting film clips for what he hoped would be his final concert, “This Is It.”
Britney needs a new conservatorship
Watching viral clips of Britney performing Helter Skelter dances filled me with similar despair. Because it was eerily clear that she, too, was performing a dance of death.
Here is the concern I expressed back in November 2021, when everyone else was rejoicing that Britney was finally free:
But here’s the, er, crazy thing. Anyone who knows about the public antics that led to Britney’s conservatorship in the first place could be forgiven a sense of déjà vu. After all, her antics on social media these days suggest she might be going through eerily similar public mental struggles.
Frankly, it can only be a matter of time before even die-hard fans think: Oops!.. Another conservatorship might be in order … for “Free Britney.”
Given that, you’ll see why this news — from yesterday’s edition of The Daily Mail — came as no surprise:
Two and a half years after Britney Spears’ notorious conservatorship came to an end, a noted Hollywood psychiatrist thinks she needs to put back into a new one.
Dr. Charles Sophy appeared on TMZ Live on Monday, amid reports that the 42-year-old singer is ‘completely dysfunctional’ and is in serious danger of going broke. Sophy revealed that he wasn’t shocked to see the news about Spears at all, and thinks she needs to go into a conservatorship once again after she deleted her Instagram and re-activated it within the span of a day.
But honestly, needing a psychiatrist to tell us Britney needs help is like needing a meteorologist to tell us it’s raining. Indeed, it’s arguable that Michael would still be alive if his family had gotten him the help he needed instead of milking him like a cash cow.
Enough said?
