Khan and Trump, two scared puppies
Nobody in public life knows how to get under former President Donald Trump’s thin skin like former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The way she needles him with her acerbic wit and boss-lady moves is legendary. And so she remarked that he looked like a “scared puppy” at his DC arraignment last week.
‘I wasn’t in the courtroom, of course, but when I saw his coming out of his car and this or that, I saw a scared puppy,’ says Pelosi. ‘He knows the truth that he lost the election. And now he’s got to face the music.’

She was right, of course. But, with all due respect to Pelosi, even a scared puppy looks cute. Still, if Trump looked scared on Thursday, imagine his expression on Saturday when news broke about his Pakistani demon spawn:
Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested Saturday after a court handed him a three-year jail sentence for corruption, a development that could end his future in politics. The court ruled that Khan, who was ousted in a no-confidence vote in April 2022 but remains the country’s leading opposition figure, had concealed assets after selling state gifts.

That, after all, must have struck Trump as a preview of coming attractions featuring him.
Desperate calls and deafening silence
The parallels between Khan and Trump are uncanny. Both cry foul over ‘rigged’ systems. You see, in their world, a system that doesn’t have them ruling indefinitely is obviously flawed.
Classic God complex! And it’s troubling enough that both men think they can do no wrong. But their loyal supporters think the same. And just like Trump, Khan’s cries of injustice are more akin to a toddler’s tantrums than a statesman’s defiance.
Speaking of support, Trump’s ex-wives stood by him, shockingly. But it speaks volumes that Khan’s ex-wives have slammed him as even less qualified to be prime minister of Pakistan than Trump was to be president of the United States.
Nothing demonstrates his Trumpian bona fides quite like this: Khan called for his supporters to create ungovernable chaos to protest his fate. Both men boasted that their supporters would never stand by and allow prosecutors to convict and jail them. Yet, Khan is now in jail, and there’s been nary a peep from his supporters.
Khan’s “die-hard” supporters seem deaf to his calls. As he hollers for help, they remain silent. But, to be fair, Trump has no reason to expect any more of his supporters. After all, they reacted with deafening silence when he made similar calls for chaos on the eve of each day of three arraignments.
The irony is that these scared puppies once thought of themselves as sacred cows. Now Trump must be scared sh*tless. Because he cannot fail to see that Imran is now suffering his fate!
Of course, if Khan thinks he will only serve three years, one name should disabuse him of that thought: Alexei Navalny.
