Trump ridiculed Scott
Trump continually ridiculed Tim Scott, saying, “You are campaigning harder for me than yourself.” This was Trump’s sadomasochistic way of acknowledging how hard Scott was auditioning for VP. That’s why MSNBC host Joy Reid and others waxed clairvoyant and indignant last night, explaining why Trump didn’t pick him.
Of course, any Black with common sense could see that Trump’s a racist running on a White nationalist agenda. Except Scott had his head inserted too far up Trump’s ass. That’s the only explanation for him thinking Trump would pick an Uncle Tom like him to serve as VP.
I warned Scott, Rubio, and Burgum
But, unlike Reid and others, I didn’t wait to ridicule Scott in hindsight. Instead, I repeatedly warned him with foresight. Here, for example, is how I commented on a New York Times report on June 25 about Trump’s top contenders for VP:
Of course racist and misogynistic Trump is never going to pick a Latino or a Black as his VP. Yet Latino wannabes like Rubio and Cruz and Black wannabes like Scott and Donalds are debasing themselves and even betraying their racial heritage in a vain attempt to appeal to Trump and his base of white supremacists. MAGA Suckers!
And, at the risk of tooting my horn too much, here’s how I commented to an Axios on June 18 about the then-putative frontrunner Doug Burgum as follows:
Trump is not going to pick Burgum. With Trump, the more he thinks you want something from him, the less likely he is to give it to you. He’s just sadistic like that.
Trump picks J.D. Vance. Duh
Trump plucked Dan-Quaylian Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance to serve as his VP.
Like Pence, Vance is a White man. But unlike Pence, Vance takes pride in championing Trump’s autocratic, racist, homophobic, and xenophobic policies. This shows that you can take the hillbilly out of Appalachia, but you can’t take Appalachia out of the hillbilly.
As yes men go, they don’t come any more loyal than Never-Trumper-cum-MAGA-convert Vance.
