Diddy and Jay-Z: birds of a feather
The feds arrested Sean “Diddy” Combs in September on charges of sex trafficking and other federal offenses. Back then, I suggested it was only a matter of time before this Bad Boy’s Rock-A-Fella buddy, Jay-Z, faced the music, too. Sure enough, here’s how NPR reported yesterday on the bombshell allegation Jay-Z is now facing:
Jay-Z, the rapper whose real name is Shawn Carter, was accused of drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl, allegedly along with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, in 2000, according to a civil lawsuit filed in federal court on Sunday. According to the accuser, an unidentified female celebrity stood by and watched Combs and Carter take turns raping the minor, and that no one at the party attempted to stop the assault.
Frankly, everyone knows Jay-Z and Diddy were the Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid of hip-hop. So when Cassie filed that lawsuit against Diddy, which led directly to his arrest, Jay-Z must have realized it was only a matter of time before an accuser pointed the finger at him, too.
Ride or die Beyoncé
Don’t be surprised if the unnamed woman who got off watching this (and other “freak offs”) turns out to be Queen Bey. Lest we forget, Jay-Z and Beyoncé started dating in 2000 — the same year this alleged rape occurred. Maybe making her watch was his twisted way of initiating and grooming her.
In any event, all that’s left now is for the other accusers to crawl out of the woodwork and the feds to file criminal charges against Jay-Z, too. And talk about comeuppance, their 2003 album “03 Bonnie and Clyde” now looks like an incriminating case of life imitating art.
