To all of my fellow Christians who backslid from the ritual of attending Good Friday Church Service many years ago, I suggest you watch Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ today and reflect, perhaps for the first time, upon the meaning of these words, which we recited ad nauseam in our youth:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
NOTE: The vast majority of you will find this incredibly anachronistic, but the leaders of my mother country, the Turks and Caicos Islands, are actually debating whether or not we should belatedly break the yoke of colonialism and declare our independence from Great Britain….

Good Friday, The Passion of the Christ

Anthony,
I think you and the other backsliders should forget the movie and go back to Church.
However, God must be working through you because that article you wrote on TCI independence is very moving. That’s really speaking truth to power.
God bless you

I am a firm believer that God as well as spiritual beings are everywhere and not confined to the walls of a church. I prefer to worship solitary and find no need whatsoever for physically attending church services. I also do not believe that living mortals (evangelicals, etc.) cannot instruct me on life after death issues as they are still residing on this plane and am not impressed with religious leaders. Therefore, I look to God and the other residents and creatures contained within the spirit worlds for guidance exclusively. They are all far more knowledgeable than we are for they (including departed spirits) have transcended this mundane plane and have evolved.

I hear you Mary. But for you ALH and all the other backsliders out there, worshiping the Lord in Church is more about fellowship with other Christians than just about what any evangelical preacher might have to say about salvation. You need fellowship my sister.
Hey ALH, I bet you can twist any preacher into mental pretzels with your intellectual questions. But the only thing they should say to you my brother is you gotta have faith!
