As you probably gathered from Thursday’s column on the Cheney hunting accident, I don’t have much regard for media priorities when it comes to news coverage in America. For example, when was the last time any of you heard or read a report on the trial of Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling for allegedly perpetrating the biggest corporate fraud in U.S. history? (A trial, incidentally, that is being held not more than a stone’s throw from the location of Cheney’s ill-fated weekend hunt down in Texas.)
Of course, if this were a sensational murder trial (as in OJ, Scott Peterson or Neil Entwistle who is about to become the next media obsession), such a question would be utterly gratuitous….
Enron trial, media hype
Forget Dick Cheney! Does anyone remember Ken Lay and Enron?
