Never before in the history of American politics has a politician seem to revel in debasing himself quite like Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas does. My commentary “Lyin’ Ted Cruz Is Even Worse Than Trump Said,” February 20, 2021, probably said it all. But I’d be remiss not to comment on this:
Senator Ted Cruz has been widely mocked after he appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show to apologize for referring to January 6 as a ‘violent terrorist attack,’ after the remarks were criticized by conservative figures.
The Texas Republican told the Fox News host that the comments he made at a Senate hearing on the eve of the one year anniversary on the attack were ‘sloppy’ and ‘frankly dumb.’ …
During a fiery exchange, Carlson said that he did not believe that Cruz used the word ‘terrorist’ accidentally, and that his comments about people who violently attack police officers “doesn’t make sense” as they still would not be classified as terrorists by law.
While sharing a clip of Cruz’s appearance on Carson’s show on Twitter, Illinois rep. Adam Kinzinger described it as “one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen.”

I thought flying down to Mar-a-Lago to kiss Trump’s ass after Trump had just cuckolded him was pusillanimity too perverse for words. But going on Fox News to take lessons from Murdoch’s anti-American stooge, Tucker Carlson, on how to grovel and eat his words like a good human pet takes the cake.
Remarkably, this Harvard Law grad seems to think kowtowing to dystopian firebrands like Carlson and Trump is the best way to show he’s fit to serve as president of the United States. Then again, exposing himself as a thin-skinned bully, pathological liar, and gilded-tower grifter worked for Trump. So…
