Trump held his first Cabinet meeting today. And no one should be surprised that Elon Musk spoke almost as much as Trump, reinforcing his co-president status. Notably, Vice President “JV” Vance led everyone else in performative displays of awe and deference to both presidents.
Frankly, the only thing remotely interesting about this meeting was the way Elon lavished sycophantic praise on Trump’s team of sycophants. He called it “literally the best Cabinet the country has ever had.” His Orwellian doublespeak was palpable. After all, by any objective measure, it’s easily the worst Cabinet ever. I mean, Lincoln’s Team of Rivals, which many, including Obama, emulated?
But I suspect members reacted to his praise with such irrepressible incredulity that Musk felt obliged to keep blowing smoke up their ass. So he added, “And I don’t give false praise,” belying the false praise he had just given them.
Even so, this wasn’t just the idle flattery Trump demands. It reeked of ketamine-fueled delusions —like his Doge “savings” claims, where the real numbers always come in at a fraction of his grand hallucinations.
