After all, while most Republican men are still kissing Trump’s brass ass, there was Cassidy Hutchinson giving congressional testimony that could seal his doom…
It was one of the most dramatic moments in a presentation filled with them: Just before President Donald J. Trump went onstage near the White House last year and urged his supporters to ‘fight like hell’ and march on the Capitol, an aide testified on Tuesday, he was told that some of them were armed.
It was also a potentially consequential moment for any prosecution of Mr. Trump, legal experts said. Knowing that his crowd of supporters had the means to be violent when he exhorted them to march to the Capitol — and declared that he wanted to go with them — could nudge Mr. Trump closer to facing criminal charges, legal experts said.

But, apropos of a Republican woman showing more balls than Republican men, Liz Cheney – who happened to be the Republican committee member questioning Hutchinson – has been doing that ever since the Jan 6. insurrection. So…
I have to say, though, that scene Hutchinson recounted – of seditionist Trump trying to grab the steering wheel from the secret service so he could drive “The Beast” in leading his MAGA mob as they storm the Capitol – must be a cartoonist’s dream.
I can’t wait to see how they depict it for posterity.
Of course, it’s in the institutional interest of the Secret Service for its agents to spin Hutchinson’s account in the light most favorable to Trump. And, trust me, they will find some way to do so without (any agent) having to call her a liar under oath.
Not to mention reports that many agents serving in Trump’s detail had become even greater MAGA sycophants and enablers than Republicans serving in Congress. So…
But what happens in The Beast must stay in The Beast. Otherwise, no president would ever trust them again.
