Kamala will win
Last Wednesday, I published “Kamala Harris Knows How to Debate. So Stop the Chauvinistic Advice.” I always heed my own advice and am convinced that, by any objective criteria, Kamala will defeat Trump easily.
Indeed, Trump is running scared. He knows he can’t articulate coherent policies to save his life. That’s why he’s trying to bully his way back into the White House, hoping people will be too intimidated to support Harris.
Trump will open old playbook
His debate strategy is as simple as it is familiar: he’s crying foul about the whole thing being rigged. Most egregiously, he claims the ABC moderators are so biased they gave Kamala the debate questions ahead of time. He’s banking on these blatantly false claims to intimidate them into asking softball questions and not fact-checking him.
In any event, no matter how badly he bombs, Trump will claim he won because the odds were stacked against him. But I look forward to Kamala landing an early knockout blow by calling him out the minute his tiny hands begin playing his imaginary accordion. Because, thanks to his former fixer, Michael Cohen, we now that’s a big tell that he’s doubling down on a big lie.
Biden should address the nation on Trump’s threats
Meanwhile, in classic projection, he’s trying to rig this election by threatening to arrest Democratic donors, election officials, and voters. But Biden can redeem his fateful debate performance by following this presidential debate with an address to the nation from the Oval Office.
He should condemn Trump’s mob tactics as un-American and beneath anyone running for the presidency. And he should make it clear that if (or when) Trump loses, he’ll transfer power to Harris.
So no American should care what Trump, the election-denier, vents. Biden should also stress that if Trump incites another insurrection, he won’t hesitate to lock him up!
